White House What’s Up
President Joe Biden is set to deliver remarks at two separate events on Thursday: at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., in the afternoon, and then at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute 47th Annual Awards Gala in the evening.
The Homestretch
Vice President Kamala Harris travels to Detroit, Michigan, for a Thursday evening campaign event hosted by Oprah Winfrey. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, her running mate, will be in Washington, D.C., where he’ll address some of the nation’s top CEOs at “The Business Roundtable.”
Former President Donald Trump, fresh off a rally in Nassau County, New York, followed by an appearance on Fox’s “Guttfeld!” Wednesday evening, will also be in D.C. Thursday evening to address a “Fighting Anti-Semitism in America” event with Miriam Adelson. His running mate, Sen. JD Vance (OH), will also be speaking at “The Business Roundtable.”

Could be an interesting day in Georgia as defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant seeks to have Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis held in contempt should she fail to show for a hearing in Merchant’s open records lawsuit against her.
In the Southern District of New York, Sean “Diddy” Combs lost his bid to the court’s initial ruling denying him bail reversed. For now, he’ll remain in jail in Brooklyn.
MORNING MUSING
Something’s changed in Donald Trump. There’s no doubt he was deeply affected by the failed assassination attempt on him in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. Near misses don’t come any nearer than that. But since attempt number two on Sunday at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, there’s been a noticeable change in his demeanor. He’s lighter. More upbeat. He’s made multiple appearances — at rallies, town halls, interviews. I’ve not seen them all, but the ones I have seen all featured a man who seemed fully relaxed and at ease — which is a bit surprising in light of the threat he’s clearly facing and the daunting task before him. Whether he’s seeing internal polling that has him feeling confident or it’s something deeper, more spiritual, 45 actually appears to be happy warrioring his way into the homestretch of the election.
