Tata Safari

The first name on the list is the flagship Tata SUV – the Safari. The company recently announced that its top-of-the-line SUV scored a perfect five-star safety rating in GNCAP as well as Bharat NCAP.

It managed to score 33.05 out of 34 points in Adult occupant protection. Additionally, it also scored 45 out of 49 points in child occupant protection.

Tata Harrier

The five-door sibling of the new Safari – Harrier also managed to score a perfect five-star safety rating in both GNCAP and BNCAP. The scores of adult and child occupant protection were exactly the same as the Safari.

According to the GNCAP and BNCAP, both SUVs offered excellent protection for the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Additionally, they were noted to have a very stable body shell capable of withstanding further loadings. Both SUVs also get curtain airbags as standard.

Skoda Slavia

The mid-size sedan Skoda Slavia also managed to score a 5-star safety rating from GNCAP. It also needs to be noted that the Slavia did this under the new Global NCAP protocols.

It managed to score a total of 29.71 out of 34 points in adult occupant protection. Meanwhile, it managed to score 42 out of 49 points in child occupant protection.

Volkswagen Virtus

The Volkswagen Virtus, which is based on the MQB A0-IN platform as the Slavia, also scored the exact same points. It also scored 29.71/34 and 42/49 in adult and child occupant protection, respectively.

According to GNCAP, the Virtus as well as the Slavia, both offered good protection for head, neck, and chest. It was also highlighted that both cars came with very stable body shells.

Skoda Kushaq

The Skoda Kushaq mid-size SUV also scored the elusive 5-star safety rating from GNCAP. It scored 29.64 out of 34 points in adult occupant protection. And it also scored 42 out of 49 points in child occupant protection.

Volkswagen Taigun

Another one of the MQB A0-IN platform sibling, the Volkswagen Taigun also scored the perfect five-star safety rating from GNCAP. It scored the exact same scores as the Kushaq.

The adult occupant protection scores were 29.64 out of 34. Meanwhile, it was 42 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. GNCAP noted that both mid-size SUVs offered good protection for head, neck, and chest.

They also were noted with stable body shell. It also has to be noted that the Taigun and Kushaq were the first vehicles to achieve a 5-star rating for both adult and child occupants under the new protocol.

Hyundai Verna

The mid-size sedan from Hyundai also managed to score 5 stars in Global NCAP crash tests. The sedan scored 28.18 out of 34 points in adult occupant protection. Meanwhile, in child occupant protection, it scored 42 out of 49 points.

The crash test results highlighted that the Hyundai Verna offers good protection for the head, neck, abdomen, and pelvis. Also, it offers a stable body shell. The sedan comes equipped with front, side, and curtain airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX mounts.

Mahindra Scorpio-N

The full-size ladder-on-frame SUV from Mahindra since its launch has been receiving praises. It became even more popular after it scored a perfect 5-star adult safety rating.

It also scored 3 stars in child safety. Its adult occupant protection score was 29.25 out of 34 points. Meanwhile, its child occupant protection score was 28.93 out of 49 points.

GNCAP noted that the SUV offered good protection for the head, neck, and legs. And its body shell was also stable. It also had good side impact performance and marginal chest protection.

Tata Punch

The only micro-SUV in India to score 5 stars in GNCAP is the Tata Punch. Its adult occupant protection score was 16.49 out of 17 points. Tata Punch was tested by Global NCAP back in 2021.

At the time, it was one of the highest scores among Indian cars for adult occupant protection. The highlights of the Tata Punch are that it utilizes ALFA architecture. And comes equipped with safety features including dual airbags, ABS, and ISOFIX mounts.

Mahindra XUV300

The sub-compact SUV from Mahindra XUV 300 has also scored the respectable five-star safety It scored a total of 16.42 out of 17 points in adult occupant protection. As for the child occupant protection, it scored a total of 37.44 out of 49 points.

The XUV300 was tested back in 2020. Global NCAP highlighted that the SUV offered good protection for the head, neck, chest, and knees. It was also noted to have a stable body shell.

Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz was also tested by Global NCAP in 2020. At the time, it managed to score a perfect five-star safety rating. It scored 16.13 out of 17 points in adult occupant protection. Meanwhile, in child occupant protection, it scored 29 out of 49 points.

GNCAP noted that the hatchback offered good protection for the head, neck, and knees. Additionally, a stable body shell was also noted. It was also one of the first cars in India to get the five-star safety rating.

Tata Nexon

The most popular sub-compact SUV in India, Tata Nexon, was the first car from India to score a perfect 5-star rating in tests by Global NCAP. It was first tested back in 2018 and then it was retested in 2024 after a facelift.

The latest result of the Nexon crash tests revealed that it scored 32.22 out of 34 points in adult occupant protection. Meanwhile, in child occupant protection, it scored 44.52 out of 49 points.

Global NCAP stated that it met the UN127 and GTR9 requirements. This SUV comes equipped with six airbags, ESC, seatbelt reminders, and ISOFIX mounts.

Mahindra XUV700

Tested back in 2021, the Mahindra XUV700 scored a perfect 5-star safety rating in the GNCAP crash tests. Its adult occupant protection rating was 16.03 out of 17 points. Meanwhile, child occupant protection score was 41.66 out of 49 points.

It was highlighted by the GNCAP that it offers good protection for the head, neck, chest, and knees. Addition the body shell was noted to be stable.

The XUV700 base variants come equipped with dual airbags. But the higher spec models gets 6 and 7 airbags. The SUV also gets ABS, and ISOFIX mounts. Additionally, it also comes with ADAS.
