Brand new Tata Altroz’s gear lever stops working after covering just 110 km: Owner upset [Video]

Tata Motors is one of the leading car manufacturers in India. They have a variety of models, including hatchbacks, sedans, and SUVs in their lineup. Most of their products are popular among customers for their build quality. There are several examples that prove Tata’s build quality. Many people prefer Tata cars over others just because of this one reason. However, we have come across several incidents where people have complained about their after-sales service. Here we have one such incident from Uttar Pradesh, where a customer who bought a brand new Tata Altroz faced an issue with the car after covering just 110 km.

The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. The video was actually shared by the customer, Rajneet Soni, who bought the Altroz hatchback. He purchased the car from a dealership in Lucknow. The customer lives around 90 km away from the dealership in Gonda. The exact details of the variant are not known. The customer took delivery at around 8:35 PM, and he, along with his family, drove the car to their home.

He parked the car in the parking spot below his home, and when he came back the next morning, the car was experiencing an issue. The gear lever on the car was not working. In fact, the driver was unable to engage first, second, or reverse gear. The lever was moving freely and wasn’t slotting into the gear he wanted. The owner is a huge Tata car fan and he appreciates the build quality. That is the only reason why he bought this car. When he experienced this issue, he called the dealership and received a very poor response from them. The owner can be heard saying in the call recording that they were trying to wash their hands of the issue by claiming they had delivered the car without any problems.

The customer was not at all happy with the response and felt that the dealership was not taking his issue seriously. He called for help and even asked the dealership to take the car to the service center on a flatbed. He waited for two days and has not received any response from them. He mentions that the dealership is trying to attribute the issue to the customer’s mistake. The owner also mentions that he has cars from Maruti in his garage and he has never faced an issue, whether it’s with the product or the service. Maruti responds to issues promptly and knows how to handle customers.

The Tata Altroz owner can be heard saying in the video that he really wants to use the car, but such small issues are actually making him think otherwise. He can be heard saying in the call recording that anyone who is planning to buy a Tata product should ensure that their car doesn’t have any major issues and should be a bit more careful. The price for a brand new Tata Altroz starts at Rs 6.60 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 10.74 lakh ex-showroom. It is the safest car in its segment with a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. We really hope the customer’s issue gets resolved on time and he doesn’t face any more problems with the car.
